Kembang Goela is mostly a preferred place for businessmen power lunches or families holding gatherings. In these events, a calm and intimate ambience is essential, to encourage conversations between the guests. To portray this tranquility, a fusion between Dutch-Colonial and Javanese Keraton styles was set, chosen due to the underlying classiness and solemn undertones of both styles. To capture the stylistic fusion that was heavily displayed in the restaurant’s dining spaces, a similar colour palette was applied to the table setting’s design. The antique batik parang devised as a table runner was the key element that worked as a mood builder on the table, as an ensemble of black with golden lining accents often present in Colonial style antiques are employed instantly within the table.
